ExFormation Duo

Vier und Art (Olivier Schlund)

Painter, Graphic designer, photographer, visual artist and performer, living in Berlin. Born in Zurich in the early 1990s and still he can`t identify himself in a national structure.

He decided very early to immerse himself in the world of work, after compulsory school-time.

However, over the next four years he completed a training as a gra- phic designer. He reached a very fast climax there. Wishing to go further and for lack of creativity in this professional environment, he created his own graphic design company.

He wanted to avoid a systematic stiffening and prema- ture brain death due to Prussian pressure, so he left everything that could be left and walked from Geneva to Morocco. After this deep experience of self-libera- tion and discovery, he spent another half year in Afri- ca. He made the decision immediately after this trip to move to Berlin and devote his life to art.

As an artist, he creates a space of mutual understan- ding and tension. The essence of his work is confronted with a very descriptive and explanatory aspect. On the other side, it repeats an abstract and dreamy art. He works with the world’s issues in his own way. It takes a lot of energy every day. He am vulnerable and frail thanks to this extreme receptivity that turns him on. »

Sophie Scheifele

Photography artist, videographer, visual artist, performer “Scheifele, born in Béziers (France), August 22, 1994 (24 years old). Photographer, perforator and plastic artist, life in Berlin. She considers herself a self-taught independent artist, with no long-term educational institution. The artistic collaborations are numerous and the experiences multiply. She uses many supports and tries to express an aesthetic of her feelings.

Critically questioning society, which imposes us and which confines us. Being a self-taught artist in the contemporary art world is today like an animal in the process of disappearing. There are still some, but the academy and the institution are responsible for seeing them disappear.

“The artist is the one who creates the perceptive”. Deleuze

Getting naked hurts, scares, whether physical or metaphysical. The passage of “undressing” is the most delicate and difficult moment.

At this moment when you, I, we are the most fragile. Because we surpass the codes of social and cultural norms. Exposure is the detachment from modesty and endangerment. Instead of the body being covered with clothes that mark a social identity and its

category by hiding its body, it is shown naked, as if it were an obvious challenge. “

This performance duo ExFormation exists since 2018. The artistic meeting between the painter Olivier Schlund (Vier und Art) and the photographer Sophie Scheifele. ExFormation is between performance and visual art. This commitment questions society. Through actions involving nudity, the concept is as close to human beings as sensitive and fragile as they are.

The freedom of the artist is to propose and the freedom of the public is to decide to want to go. “Provocation and aggression are part of artistic expression. »Valie Export Deliberately breaking the limits, surpassing the limits are essential. You have to push them back, move them or even delete them to enlarge the field of artistic expression.

The instrument of “power” that the human has taken for granted allows itself to condemn taboos. He gives himself the freedom to “hide things” through censorship. The media and our limits reflect the state of mind of the company in its actuality.

Today, the media prefer to create a sensation than to think of the meaning of the actions themselves.

RASUR - HAARLOS

Rasur Haarlos in an era of repression.

Near a global precarity we tell this story as a responsible woman and man in the society.

Our bodies as the most important tool and our hair as our capital.

Woven to the red thread that guides us through our lives and memories all our o so valuable experiences. We cut it radically.

A two hour whole body hair removal on the one side of the mirror, to show up how much pain and suffer men like to take just to reach a status through richness and abundance.

On the other side, the story of women under oppression, degradation and forced to work unpaid for prosperity.

We start to run.

Run for our lives and chase an invisible luck that is advertised with a high price.

We survived and we found ourselves in front of this mirror.

You are the antimatter of my matter and i am your antimatter you are your matter.

We suffer this way together.

With each hair we lose, the pressure and weight on our shoulders increases. Before we break apart in performance, the mirror images unite in love and the music quiesches.

Left alone and with her last strength, she makes the best decision and, with a loud clang, destroys the mirror, the capital, the wealth, the oppression and the agony.

But she didn't know that he was doing what he does best. Always the same mistake.
